This policy explains what information 2K Archive ("we", "the site") collects at 2karchive.com, how it's used and the choices you have.
Using the site without an account
You can browse ratings and play every game without signing in. Your best scores and trivia answers may be saved in your own browser's local storage so they're there next time. That data stays on your device.
Signing in
If you choose to sign in, we use Google Sign-In through Google Firebase Authentication. Firebase gives us an account ID, and your Google account's name and email address are stored in Firebase Authentication so you can sign in again. We don't show your email to anyone or use it for marketing.
When you sign in you choose a public name. It appears on leaderboards and on custom players you create. You can change it at any time.
What we store when you're signed in
- Your public name.
- Leaderboard entries: your best Starting 5 score and lineup, your best Higher or Lower streak, and your daily trivia results.
- Custom players you create, including any photo you upload.
This information is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and is public: anyone who visits the site can see leaderboards and custom players, along with your public name. Don't upload photos of other people without their permission, or anything you don't want to be public.
Deleting your data
Signed in, open the menu under your name and choose Delete my data. That permanently removes your scores, trivia results, custom players, photos and public name. To also remove your sign-in record, email contact@2karchive.com and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Advertising and cookies
The site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and in U.S. states with privacy laws, are shown a consent message where required and can change their choices at any time from the privacy link it provides.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase (sign-in and database), Google AdSense (ads), Google Fonts (fonts) and our web host to run the site. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
Children
The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we'll delete the data.
